The recent appointment of Okiro as the new IG is a reflection of how the Nigerian state regards the Igbos. Ogbonnaya Onovo, the most qualified and due for the job was denied this position because of the injustice and hatred for a particular set of people in this Nigeria.
I once read in the newspapers where one writer said that whenever any other Nigerian is in trouble, the due process and whatever is the obstacle will be manipulated so that he or she will get justice. When any Igbo man, who avoids trouble, falls into one due to the social and economic traps set across his way, due process will be theorized to make sure he is denied justice.
Ehindero was supposed to retire one and half years ago but was allowed to stay beyond because of the evil act he has been assigned to deliver in 14th and 21st April. Ribadu has been promoted many times above his mates because they want to make him IG.
Furthermore, in the present PDP zoning formula in which the South-East has been reduced to a major minority, yet Ahmadu Ali does not want to hand over to an acting chairman from the zone when all the other zones have got their positions. Jostlers for the position from the zone have been admonished to wait for due process in this coming November even when Ali assumed the position months before November convention some years ago after forcing Audu Ogbeh to resign at gunpoint.
Looking at the present appointments made by President Yar’ adua, the Igbos are completely lost. Obasanjo spent billions in building and commissioning dams, power stations, good roads, airports, etc., in the North and Southwest of Nigeria. Recently before he left, he sold refineries, houses, etc., to himself and his friends from the same part of this country. Nothing to show for in the South-East that has supported him since 1999. I ask; is this hatred or bad belle? Yet people like Andy Uba, Rochas Okorocha, Ike Nwachukwu, Sam Egwu, Joe Irukwu and Achuzia, Iwuanyanwu, Onyema Ugochukwu, Abaribe and their likes remain shameless. They don’t know the gravity of their sabotage.
Igbos are asking questions, the next generation will ask questions and the unborn-generation will continue to ask questions!

Igbos are Nigerians, stretching from Agbor to Port-Harcourt, and believe you me, every other tribe fears us, that is why they wouldn’t give us a chance, that is why they want to disunite us through politics. Only the cowards amongst us will fall for their antics.

Chike J Okiro I hear you! That is the problem! Because there was war in Nigeria and the then government created states and used divide and rule to put ersthwhile Igbo people in other places, those Igbos started claiming they weren’t Igbos and that spoled things. Eg the Ikwerres, Agbors Ukwuanis etc etc But yes we need to unite once again regardless of where we find ourselves today in Nigeria because one day we WILL be in ONE country that is truly ours. Mark my words!
And because our language is highly dialectical people tend to see themselves as firstly whatever dialectical area they come from before being Igbo. This needs to change! And soon. Daalu!
Last I checked, oriko was an Igbo name. Why must Igbos always apply the Igbo litmus test to say one is not Igbo enough? Why can’t we be united for chrissake?

Please stop being ignorant!!! Just because Ike Nwachukwu's mother is from katsina doesn't mean he can't be regarded as an Igbo man.
It's people like you that make the Igbo nation not to speak with one voice. With so many inter-tribal marriages occurring these days in Nigeria, people are now more than likely to have parents of different tribal and ethnic backgrounds.
My advice to the Igbos is to be united at all cost. Take a look at the northerners – They always speak with one voice – united with one common language – Hausa.
The Igbos should do the same regardless of which state or village they originally come from.

I hope the Igbo/Ibo nation do read this contribution and i pray that one day that the Igbo nation will wake up and rise above i, me and stupidity which is equal to sabotage of the Igbo nation. instead of 'We the Igbo nation'.

I know that Okiro is an Igbo man from Rivers State. There are also lots of Ijaw from Ondo and Yoruba from Kogi. We should always attempt to do some research before writing.
