Called unto Holiness Church of our God!

by Eferovo Igho

There are too many diversionary things today in our midst. The flesh is taken over many a pulpit. Christianity is being made a financial concern, and the church a cash and carry ‘miracle’ rendezvous. What you see is overhyping of things very secondary at the expense of weightier and eternal matters. The church in this age has so approximated the world that you wonder whether the devil is not really in control in many ‘church’ circles.

The unrighteous mammon is apparently god in many a churches. The subject matter of sin, hell and eternal damnation and how to get free from these are almost absent from our pulpits; yet they speak unceasingly of miracles, breakthroughs, prosperity etc as if there is any miracle, breakthrough or prosperity greater than being free from SIN, Satan’s nature!

Salvation from sin, and holiness unto God thereafter is why Jesus came for us, and this is what promises eternity with God. “Called unto Holiness Church of our God”! That is the calling. And that is the determinant factor on the great day of the LORD, for:

“Not everyone that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity” – Matthew 7:21-23.

And: “Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. [12] But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. [13] Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh” – Matthew 25:11-13

Consider:
Consider the two categories of people (actually believers) that ‘Lord, Lord’ did not prevail ‘for’. The first, walking ‘great works’ and the other, ‘virgins’!

The Pilgrim’s Prayer:
Lord Jesus, while breath You still allow me on this side of eternity, help me in life and ministry to always know and to always do THE WILL of Your Father which is in heaven! And help me to WATCH, to watch unto holiness, unto purity or unto conformity with You now and till You come, and with GRACE abounding! Help me Lord! Amen!
