Christian Women Dressing: Faith of our Mothers!

Below is a list of some holy Christian women over the years. These women, all, with many others not captured here such as Elizabeth Fry (1780–1845), Catherine Booth(1829–1890), Sarah Foulkes Moore (1890-1973) who was the co-founding Editor of Herald of His Coming Magazine and countless others were holy women and living epistles read by many over the years. They once trod through this dark world of sin but as pilgrims, pilgrims indeed. But now with their Lord, Who they lived for holily and humbly and served faithfully whilst here, they abide in all eternal bliss! Many lives they had by grace affected positively and planted on the path that takes to heaven, and many of such so planted by them have ended up by grace at the Master’s feet on high. Volumes have been written by these our mothers and or written about them on ‘the heavenly walk’.

But one common denominator that our eyes can readily see in their photos here may we refer: On dressing may we carefully observe to the shame of many of us today that these holy and faithful women of God had no hell or water spirits’ make-ups, weave-ons, perms, paintings etc; no exposures, see-through and or perforated attires and wears revealing contours; no trousers, no jewels, earrings and such other things; for these sorry things Satan and Ashtoreth only captivated or enchanted the ‘churches’ pews and pulpits with not too long ago. Only about 40 years ago ‘church’ women became engrossed in them. It is just these few decades ago that Satan through Baal and Ashtoreth, mermaid or water spirits, Illuminati, Hollywood, canal America and wayfarers on the Broad-way begin to define dressing for us who ordinarily should be on the ‘Narrow-way’ with Jezebel as model, and to dare to be contrary or resolve to stay with the revealed will of God in the Bible in this matter is seen as irritating exception and or laughable. Think about it. But a fleshly ‘church’ the definition of the pit of hell and of the multitude in the Broad-way will embrace and indeed be overwhelmed by as it is today. In this matter, the pace and rate at which Satan wants to obliterate the will of God for His Church and the legacy of New Testament holy women and the holy women after them is alarming. O the untold multitude on this way!

Yet, the foundation of God remains sure. Yet the way is still and ever narrow. Yet, only few will find it. Yet, let all men be liars but God only be true. To be rooted on this foundation, to be a pilgrim on the narrow way and to walk to and at last find the eternal abode of the Father of all spirits, and not to be found liars when it all matters most, how eternally rewarding not to touch these unclean things from the houses of Baal and Ashtoreth that have come to the church so-called and ‘church’ women; and how eternally rewarding to be separated from them now. These things Jezebel the daughter of Eth-baal (meaning ‘with Baal’ and of Baal worship) did and she made no pretentious claim to serve the God of Israel, for really light and darkness cannot dwell together: And we really cannot be dressed, ‘made-up’ like her and walk on the path that leads to eternal life. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord. And touch not the unclean thing: and I will receive you” – 2 Corinthians 6: 17.

O the faith of our mothers! No matter what, that faith is ‘living still’! So, be among the few who will not join the multitude! It is a choice!

That Bible women in the New Testament where recommended to us as example of Christian women dressing is not in doubt and that Christian women after them followed faithfully Bible injunction not to be like the world (including dressing) is not equally in question. And that up to the 1600s Christian women knew the reason and purpose of dressing and did not allow Satan to redefine it is also not in doubt. Indeed, that the devil didn’t succeed with the Church until recently can be seen in the dressing of Christian women in all ages before now. The examples of these select Women of God (indeed) who lived from 1648 to 2009 (i.e. even including our sad age is both testimony and witness enough, and leaves our age without excuse:

Nigerian Men and their Foreign Wives

Culturally, Nigerian men are overbearing, controlling, and paternalistic.  They relate to their fathers and mothers differently. They believe it is “a man’s world” and so they have the tendency to relegate women to subservient roles. Lost in a Sea of Hair Weaves

One can understand some black women wearing wigs for the same reasons that some white women do; because they are losing or have lost their hair. One can even make allowances for wigs being worn for the occasional change of look. But how to explain young women with full heads of hair who will never be seen dead with their natural hair?
