MLK: A Tribute to a Quintessential Black American

by Yahaya Balogun

“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

As a man ages, with mindfulness, if he’s nurtured with nature by a responsible family with fearlessness, moral values, he will fight a good fight for a purpose. The man will get fixated on qualities, principles, and standards by which he will live his life; his values will shape the person he becomes, and his actions to his neighbors and humanity will reflect those values.

The quintessential Martin Luther King Jr. was born Michael King Jr. on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He was an American Baptist minister, civil and human rights activist. He became the most noticeable spokesperson and leader in the civil rights movement from 1955 until he was assassinated in 1968. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. was a quintessential leader. A man who saw tomorrow and used etiquette of religious, moral purview, and political activism to change the world.

Martin Luther King Jr. exuded and projected confidence. His self-confidence rested on three attributes: realism, reassurance, and resolve. As a leader, MLK never flinched; he looked reality in the face. He possessed the inner strength that propelled him to size up adversity, remained true to purpose, and stood for what is right in defense of all human beings. He shared his sense of confidence with his people. He never painted a rosy road to freedom from oppression, and he taught his followers the power of perseverance, strength, audacity, and confidence to face adversity. MLK was full of hope, resilience, responsible activism, imagination, and a sense of decency.

Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. was a powerful orator and an icon of inspiration to millions of us! He was also a quintessential human rights activist, pastor, pentecostalist, unalloyed American, father, and a vintage human being. MLK Jr. has a sterling legacy that continues to prick, shake, and shape the world’s conscience and consciousness. I listen religiously to this powerful man almost every day. The complete audio of his extemporaneous messages is a rare resource one needs to have in a home that genuinely treasures love, equity, fairness, fearlessness, and justice. All of Martin Luther King Jr.’s pastoral work of arts are worthy of muse and reflection. Most of his powerful speeches in manuscripts and books are verifiable and veritable legacy. They are archivable and unputdownable resources for insatiable minds questing for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

King’s messages of love, oratorical stance, and powerful speeches from his contemporaries are vocal resources that energize good people’s everyday lives. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. is alive in the mind of a conscientized world. His works, images, and emblematic activities remain icons of inspiration to more than a billion individuals worldwide. Martin Luther King Jr. was not only a gift to his family, but he was also a bundle of blessings and joy to America and the world. In a period the America he fought for is going through political turmoil, the internal war of attrition, naughtiness, and self-hate, Martin Luther King Jr.’s spirit was invoked in the last 2020 US general election to save America from ebbing into the precipice. The incoming President, President-elect Joe Biden is instilling hope, reconciliation, and confidence in everyone. Like MLK, Biden is currently attempting to heal a bruised and prosperous nation in self-inflicted wounds, enhanced and putrified by the outgoing mendacious Potus. Biden’s disposition is restoring the soul of America to peace and unity.

In an attempt of the black race to race to the promised land, MLK as a terrific human being piloted the dehumanized black people in the air; sailed them through the sea, and drove on the roughest land to lead his people to the promised land. Even in death, he epitomized love and peace! Martin Luther King’s iconic image remains a vintage and magnificent representation of humanity. The moral personified man will continue to be fondly and earthly remembered here until we are all raptured to meet him to part no more! A BIG thanks to Marin Luther King Jr. for giving us a golden template to thrive and be part of American imperfection and exceptionalism. We remain subservient to Martin Luther King’s emulative and peaceful characters.

Continue to rest in peace, our icon of inspiration.
