Righteousness Exalts a Nation

by Emmanuel Omoh Esiemokhai

This much quoted biblical aphorism is very often avoided by prosperity pastors, when they preach before man-made gods. They also do not tell the truth which says ,”What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and suffers the lose of his own soul”
They never forget quoting Malachi with ebullient emphasis. Are we a righteous nation? We are not!!!
The political turbulence in Nigeria in the last five years have been unprecedented. It will not be fair to put all the blame on President Jonathan. He has not been helped by his ministers, his advisers, the former ex-this and the former ex-that failed leaders, who offered self-serving misadvice, peddling influence, claiming the wisdom they never possessed either through formal education or exposure.
They tacitly sought and obtained favours, recommended candidates for appointments, who, in some cases, were misfits in the strategist posts they were appointed to. This has led to critical failures of non-performance.
Their non-performance is then attributed to the President.Governing Nigeria has never been, is not and will never be easy, until the LUGARD CURSE is removed and we negotiate the constitutional status of Nigeria.
Many years ago, I recommended CONFEDERATION. Those, who were benefiting from the sabotage of the Indigenisation Act, turned a deaf ear. Now the are belatedly calling for regionalism, without defining its parameters and workability
Those forces of negativism, who wish Nigeria. evil, but pretend to be friends of Nigeria, those imperalist agents, who want to cause mayhem and fly off to faraway regions, will fail. It is better that we discuss our country, the best we can, than allow the agents of Lucifer, the agents of the anti-christ to cause confusion and destroy our God-given Nigeria.

.The most unhelpful entity in Nigerian governance is the People’s Democratic Party. They have not helped the President in framing the social security, economic policies that would have permitted the Federal Republic to gain acceleration in the right direction. Instead of sitting down and writing copious papers for government to study and act upon, they restricted their association to begging for favours. With asps under their lips, they got their favours.
The PDP Chairmen are always dressed in flowing rodes, receiving all visitors as if that is what it is all about. Ministers have not brought out strategies to support the President. Of course resignation is not common in Nigeria.
. In future, the ministers’ salaries should be stopped before they are fired for non-performance
The Presidential system of government can only succeed , where advanced thinkers, not subservient clerks support the President with well-researched advice, well tested and well-implemented state projects.
The press in Nigeria, is subservient, corrupted, vision less and favour-seeking. They eulogise state officials, paste their pictures as a matter of normal practice on the front pages, highlight inane political diatribe, all in the name of journalism.
. Even the American govern, who is well-schooled in matters of constitutionalism, statecraft and international politics, still relies on brain-men to succeed.
The Governors operate in their fiefdoms, weakening and financially starving the local governments.
They wrongly think that since the President is from a different party, they should not assist him in federal governance.
There are so much discordant tunes from political neophytes, who for marginal success in rural road constructions, think themselves worthy of endangering the future of their states by approving huge pensions for themselves, especially those governors, who refused to pay minimum wage in their states.. What heartless culture of self-interest?
The marginally qualified lawyer, who could not sustain his legal practice, dabbled into politics, became an “eteubom”, encouraged a non-existing intellectual hood in “Akpabioism false claim of intellectualism.
It took the press to bring him to noon-day reality. Are we a righteous nation?
The churches, which in the 1970’s, witnessed the manifestation of the HOLY SPIRIT, are now tithe-collecting,bank-houses with pastors aspiring fervently to ride in jet- planes, when there is no visible concern for the poor in their churches.
I remember Pastor Oduyemi’s brand of evangelism after he returned from drug- dealing in America, he started the prosperity movement, which has caught on. He used to drive around in a Rolls Royce and in a Mercedes 600 and later flew around in a private jet.
Are we a righteous nation? Today, pastors now opening take front seat at gaiety and social festivities, sending solicitous text messages couched formidably to elicit fear. Are we a righteous nation?

Is it not in this nation that the Indigenisation Act, which set to put the commanding heights in Nigerian hands was sabotaged and through dubious reforms and BPE manoeuvrings national assets were sold to identifiable individuals to the detriment of the race?
The post-sales reconciliation of those involved is belated and we, the PEOPLE demand recovery, sequestration and justice.
? Is it not in this nation that strident tribalism, group dynamics, “ebawa se” ideology, “temi temini” tewan tewan ni” modus operandi dominate national life?
Is it not in this nation that social concern for the feral and marginalized under class is not an issue and has never been? It is mere hypocrisy when those rich people lament social insecurity which they have allowed to fester since 1960.

There are no structural principles of social security in Nigeria,There is no social security system to ameliorate the plight of the social underprivileged, the unemployed, no promotion of youth as a state concern, screaming unemployment, inadequate health provision, deteriorating educational standards, old age care, disablement, survivors social rehabilitation,
The legal defence of citizens rights is cumbersome, expensive and slow.
The nation’s legal practice has been commandeered by SANs, leaving junior lawyer in the hands of God. Of course when a country’s economic system is in the hands of overseas-owner directors, who operate through trading post agents, legal practice suffers inexorably.
The political party that has been in charge of this nation has sincerely not organised the critical issues in statecraft.
These failures cannot be put on one regime. By the way, where were the Nigerian people looking when these ommissions were recorded?
In Nigeria, when your country man is President, you ignore his failures but your very vociferious when another person from another region is. HYPOCRITES, they are the destroyers of Nigeria. They benefited enormously but will cry foul when others do. They are not democrats. They are tribal irredentists, shameless analysts of Nigerian reality.
They have engaged in the politics of advantage, unconcerned with serious attempts to grapple with the yawning social security issues that exalt a nation
In Nigeria, banking, insurance, pension schemes do not favour but strangulate compatriots.
The new Central Bank Governor has put the wrong foot forward by slashing interest rates. I knew that he would take the private sector, profit motive mentality into a public institution that is deluged by corruption, unprofessional banking operations, mediocre banking practices, covert banking operations,back-door banking practices, whereby Nigerian banks charge all sorts of fees, unsupervised by a rogue peer in the corridors of raw power.
The graduate, who acquired a first class degree cannot get a job after three years, but the third class degree graduate gets one in weeks. You have to know someone, who knows someone, who knows a cursed pervert er of justice in the Personnel Department.
As along as we worship looters of national funds, tribalism, spiritualists, fake politicians, we shall remain in agony.
Our supplications to God, the Father will be listened to, when the indubitable wrongs prevalent in Nigerian soc

iety are remedied. We should pray for peace. The Luciferian Hierarcy is at work, in its ghoulish enterprerise in the Era of the anti-christ.
