Mr. Ike Ekweremadu would not stop to amuse us. His call for the Constitution to give a nod to the legalization of prostitution in Nigeria shows the height of laziness ongoing in the sin-ate he is a member. One wonders why a call to legalize prostitution in Nigeria should be coming from the senate by this difficult period in the Nigeria’s history if the members have some good and affirmative works that would help Nigerians to do.
We are not White people who do not have cultures that are rooted in morality. The whites believe that ‘it is my life to live.’ And we have seen where this has landed the world. Ekweremadu should not bring to Nigeria his experiences from Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, where in Red Light Districts, prostitution is a way of life.
We are already blind seeing naked ladies of all sizes on the streets of Nigeria as was the case at the Red Light Districts where Ekweremadu perhaps like seeing prostitutes who are show-cased behind glass windows.
We are even tired of watching unwholesomely Nigerian girls who go naked in the name of fashion, flaunting their cleavages. Therefore, Ekweremadu should stop this ugly agenda he sees in Netherlands, Belgium and some other European Countries where prostitution is legalized, because one of his children is said to be attending school in Belgium.
Ekweremadu should know that immorality has never been a collective practice in the annals of the world if Ekweremadu feels that it has become impossible to stop prostitution in Nigeria.
Just hear Ekweremadu: “we need to regulate prostitution in this country so that if anyone wants to indulge in prostitution, the person should be registered and issued with a license. If we say we want to stop it, it would be difficult. It is done in other countries; let us regulate it by issuing license.”
Like father like son, Senate President David Mark corroborated Ekweremadu’s evil proposal, saying: “the FCT administration has been trying to stop but they are facing stiff resistance because the prostitutes have their association and even their own legal adviser. It is a reasonably organized bad profession.”
Rich men and women! Hmmm! Nigerian Senate and Senators? These guys feel that they are in South Africa, Belgium, and Netherlands or in Sodom and Gomorrah where they can feel the use of prostitutes. But sorry, this is Nigeria, a Black man’s country where morality should be held at its expedient and not minding the prostitute that has resisted arrest and all that hogwash. Is this what we sent these guys to do for us at the senate? To bring prostitution crusade to us, whereas they pretend to be good Christians and Muslims? This rubbish can never be discussed in the traditional arena. Look at what sold-conscience is causing men!
The proponents of this agenda should be reminded that: “Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance,” (Proverbs 29:3).
Do Ekweremadu and Mark want to keep company with harlots? “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication,”(1 Thessalonians 4:3).
Hear again: “Whoever recommends and helps a good cause becomes a partner therein, and whoever recommends and helps an evil cause shares in its burden.” (Quran, 4:85).
Why only legalizing prostitution? We the ordinary Nigerians don’t blame them! Why not legalized corruption, robbery, kidnapping, pedophilia and terrorism? National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons (NAPTIP should watch very well if this is a way of also legalizing human trafficking in Nigeria. What a leadership team with Ekweremadu and Mark? They are not thinking about the plight of the well meaningful Nigerians on how they will be fully engaged with meaningful occupations except legalizing prostitution.
Since they have infected us with poor leadership style, they want us to be invaded by venereal diseases. This could be why they want the agenda. The senators’ proposal is a shameful one. No wonder these Boko Haram boys want sharia to be part of Nigeria’s Constitution and the like of Ekweremadu are crying, but here they want to legalize stupidity. Maybe, he wants prostitution to be legalized for him and his family.
While we were waiting for these guys to correct our economic condition, here they are throwing more salvos to compound the overpopulation problem. They did not legalize the fuel subsidy, but here they want prostitutes. Since most of them rule us from abroad, they want sex industry to as well take international dimension here in Nigeria.
Somebody asked: “Would legalization reduce some of the inequalities and abuse suffered by the women involved? Or by legitimizing prostitution, would we reverse decades of work to promote human rights and improve the status of women?”
While sex is pleasurable and healthy, prostitution is not, from any angle one looks at it. Shocked! Shocked!! Shocked!!! Tufiakwa!
In Nigeria there are so many industries that are not regulated like bars, cab drivers, restaurants… why prostitution? Even private schools, are they properly regulated? Everyday buildings are collapsing in Nigeria without further checkmate. Who has regulated Ekweremadu’s brain?
Such agenda from the senate makes one retrospect to Krishna quotes from The Bhagavad Gita, saying, the demonic do things they should avoid and avoid the things they should do… Hypocritical, proud, and arrogant, living in delusion and clinging to their deluded ideas, insatiable in their desires, they pursue unclean ends… Bound on all sides by scheming and anxiety, driven by anger and greed, they amass by any means they can a hoard of money for the satisfaction of their cravings… Self-important, obstinate, swept away by the pride of wealth, they ostentatiously perform sacrifices without any regard for their purpose. Egotistical, violent, arrogant, lustful, angry, envious of everyone, they abuse my presence within their own bodies and in the bodies of others.
