Mallam Nuhu Ribadu: Nigeria's WMD On Corruption War

by Paul I. Adujie

As falls of high profile corrupt Nigerians continues, the word is out, to the effect that the war on corruption is a full-blown and full-scale war! And that Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, chairperson of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the EFCC, has gone global with the battle to rid Nigeria of this evil and debilitating scourge.

Nigeria has declared an onslaught on corruption and those who engage in it; Mallam Ribadu is the ultimate weapon in this fight by Nigeria, against corrupt practices and corrupt enrichments, he is said to be a no-nonsense fighter, and Nigeria’s WMD or Weapons of Mass Destruction in our fight against corruption and corruption’s unrepentant adherents.

Mallam Ribadu is said to be President Obasanjo’s Field Marshall in the war against corruption and it has been learnt that the Mallam deploys his EFCC operatives like precision bombers and cluster bombs, with which he shocks and awes corrupt persons, including the erstwhile Inspector General of Police Mr. Tafa Balogun, the national identity card scandal individuals and more recently, the former minister of Education, Mr. Fabian Osuji including some members of the national assembly.

Those familiar with the Mallam’s zeal and focus in the anti corruption battle, say that he is singularly minded in his zeal to eliminate corruption from Nigeria and singly focused with utmost commitment and dedication to the eradication of corruption in Nigeria, as he conducts the war as if a horse, with blinders on. Direct attacks and by proxies he fights on.

Appropriately, the word is out and spreading fast, that Mallam Riubadu is like a hungry/angry bulldog of the Alsatian breed, he barks and bites. The Mallam is said to be very ferocious. Now, beware of this anti corruption bulldog! Anyone with corrupt tendency must now watch their backs and look frequently overt their shoulders as they will have to sooner answer to this Mallam, the WMD on corruption that have been unleashed in pursuit of anyone engaged in bribery or corrupt activities in Nigeria.

Informed sources confirmed to me that the Mallam seeks corrupt persons, isolate them and strangle them prosecutorial manner, in the same manner in which good soldiers hunt enemy combatants in the battle fronts, seek the enemy, isolate the enemy and kill it! He seeks isolates and kills corruption.

This quiet and unassuming anti corruption hero, is a potent weapon deployed to fight vices in Nigeria, he is the moral equivalent of Weapons of Mass Destruction, he is said to have vowed to fight corruption to the last man, as he equally has promised to take the corruption crusade to every sector of Nigeria ‘s economic and political life, to extinguish every snippets of the plague.

Usually reliable sources described Mallam Ribadu’s resolve as inviolate and sacrosanct, he is said to possess sharp reflexes and a heightened and elevated sense of duty, responsibility and patriotism. He is said to smell improprieties from a million miles away, as he is said to go into righteous expression of abhorrence for corrupt people. As anti corruption WMD, he is said to bask and revel in his hot-pursuits of the likes of Governor Joshua Chibi Dariye, Mr. Tafa Balogun and now, Mr. Osuji.

The EFCC chairperson is said to be eagle-eyed with a knack for ferreting out precise information and evidence from corrupt persons regarding their corrupt enrichments, his keen eyes are quick to spot the holes in the corrupt evil-doers’ charades to avoid punishments. Mallam Nuhu “WMD” Ribadu is also said to be a patient detective who always get the crooks where he wants them; Just as it is said in the USA, he is a good law enforcement officer, who always “gets his man” the crooks, that is.

How can Nigerians worldwide help the EFCC fight corruption? Provide evidence of corruption, provide valuable information that will enable prosecution of corrupt persons, whomever they are or may be, whatever their region, religion or ethnicity. Help Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and his wonderful staff/employees at EFCC to wallop corruption and eradicate it from Nigeria’s landscape! Help Generalissimo Nuhu Ribadu kill corruption!

Nigerian should applaud, jubilate and celebrate the courageous crusade by our own weapons of mass destruction on corruption, fighting the war on corruption gallantly!

Bravo Mallam Ribadu!

Your Minister of Finance (Nenadi Usman) tempted me into corruption and caused me to lose money.

I reported the matter to the EFCC of Nigeria but was ignored.

If the militias are really fighting for the common man as they claim, then they should support this God-sent man in his crusade against corruption instead of threatening his life!

I feel there should be an EFCC at the local Govt., state all spheres of our endeavour. The gari seller who reduces the gari measure by whatever means is cheating his/her very poor client.

As far as I am concerned, I feel like climbing unto the highest roof top to whip up Nigerians to make this courageous man the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Partisanship is a big problem. Let's crown him as a non partisan president. We will thus be able to build a solid corruption free state before introducing partisan presidents!

Section 308 of the constitution is a joke and must go if Nigeria is truly serious about getting rid of corruption. We all need to support RIBADU, he is making history (positive)in our country. Thank God 4 him.

Poor because the author is a lawyer.'To whom much is given much is expected!'The WMD as an ubiquitous description is bogus. His use of wild like a bulldog of the alsatian breedAre alsatians bulldogsHe comes to me generally like an american apologist and not original! It is a watery article for a lawyer!

Just get rid of section 308 of the Nigerian Constitution which protects the likes of Dariye and others then you'll see a big difference.

I wish Mr. Ribadu much success. I lost a considerable amount of money due to some professional scammers and even a lawyer Mr. Thomas Iruno who fled to South Africa with a portion of my contract money. He even went out to get a new barrister for me/I hope Iruno is caught and prosecuted to the full extent of Nigerian law.

I want my contract settled and money paid to me.The NDEA gave me total clearance for a fee.

Being a senior I can afford no more fees or advance billings and must be taken care of by my partner and lawyer prior to the fund being sent to Canada.

Most sincerely John Brisbin

I was frauded and hoodwinked several times even by a barrister Thomas Iruno who fled to South Africa many months ago with my contract money.

He was my proxy and diverted 500000 US to China rather than sending it to me in Canada.

Mr. Ribadu is attempting to get this matter settled and I believe him.

From what I have seen so far Mr Obasanjo would need to appoint a Ribadu for every establishment in Nigeria for him to scratch the problem on the surface. My brother, the problem of corruption is unsolvable in this cracy country.

If you have problem with a rotten tree, you don’t solve the problem by chopping of branches here and there. No, sir! What you do is to uproot the tree itself. Getting rid of a couple of highly placed officials won’t make a dent in the “fight against corruption.” Our culture of corruption is deep-seated and it is a religious duty on our part to give and take; therefore unless we rawlingnize Nigeria, I am afraid we have a losing battle on our hands.

The writer very well described the person of our able Mallam Ribadu. I always pray for God's guidance for the EFCC boss.

However, we look forward to seeing IBB in his net. I believe this is everyone's expectation.
